The way a horse moves your body and hips while riding simulates how our bodies move when we walk. The horse literally serve as legs for those who can no longer use theirs and can take individuals over all sorts of terrain their wheelchairs would never let them cover. Horses give a sense of companionship and relationship, as well as independence, that can be hard to find elsewhere. We have adaptive equipment to help stabilize riders in the saddle as they gain core strength and trunk control through riding. We also have a lift that allows us to place riders on to our horses backs from their wheelchairs. For those over our weight limit or who are not interested in riding, we also offer programs that allow individuals to connect with the horses from the ground.
